It's already after midnight, so I'm gonna post a short-for-Staci post and go to bed! Tomorrow I get to sleep in yippee!!! Cell phone is going on silent, and hubby always does breakfast duty on Saturdays. That may sound heroic, but Saturday is junk cereal treat day for the kids after a week of Mommy making them eat healthier stuff. LOL
Breakfast was an Oikos Greek yogurt, 2 turkey sausage links, and blueberries.

Lunch wasn't what it was supposed to be, but I didn't have time to cut and clean the celery and stuff last night. Ugh. I love my new school schedule, so I've *got* to do things earlier in the evening and make my sleep a priority! So lunch ended up being chicken salad made with an Arnold sandwich thin, 3 oz of canned chicken, 14 grams RF mayo, 1 hard boiled egg, and 10 grams dried cranberries. DELICIOUS! But 10 points for a sandwich? Sheesh. But it really was yummy! Also had a string cheese, 28 grams of Doritos, and grapes.

Today was our homeschool group, so I headed right out for that after lunch. I spent 2 hours with a room of 3 to 5 year old kids reinforcing number skills and phonics. WHEW!
I came home and ate a chewy bar that is much bigger than the old kind!

Then I had a banana.

Then mother-in-law came over to watch the kids so me and hubby could have a meal out alone! Love my kids, but this week was so hard. Seems like they are sooooo good at bickering and tattle telling anymore. It becomes frustrating. I needed a break!
And I knew just what I wanted. I wanted a biscuit with apple butter and this meal they had that was sirloin tips with mushrooms and onions, brown rice, green beans, and a sweet potato.
Got to Cracker Barrel and waited 30 minutes for a table. Found out they have changed their brown rice to an every day item now and it is NOTHING like the Friday night, vegetable of the day, brown rice I loved so much. :( Also found out the meal I wanted was a promo and is no longer available to order. My sweet potato was seriously tiny, too. My waitress was super sweet, but she had obvious hearing issues. She had a speech quality to her voice that let you know she had a handicap, and I talk SO FAST that she had real issues understanding me. I really did try to slow down! I would never in my life make her feel uncomfortable, but she kept not bringing me things I needed for my meal. So I felt bad and frustrated all in one but didn't want to keep asking for what I needed for fear I would make her feel bad. But she was very friendly, kind, repeated back everything you said to her to make sure she was getting it right and did a great job overall. I don't want to sound like a jerk. She did way better understanding me and getting what I needed once the crowd died down. I think all the background noise from the crowded restaurant was a hindrance for her. My brother is deaf in one ear and partially in the other, and I know he can't handle background noise.
OK... so I guess that was irrelevant. Lol I just said all that to say we got a table super close to the couple next to us, so we didn't feel comfortable talking to each other because it was like strangers were eavesdropping. LOL My meal wasn't what I wanted or had hoped for. I felt like I wasn't getting the things I needed even though I was asking for them. It was just a weird date. :( And all we did was go there and then go home because we promised mother-in-law that's what we would do. So whatever. At least I really did get to eat in silence... didn't even talk to my husband! Rofl.
I had 2 biscuits at Cracker Barrel. That wasn't smart, but my meal ended up being an actually healthy meal except for that. I didn't take pics. I'm sorry.
Got home and I headed out to Wally World with MIL. I had a very fun time basically critiquing everything she put into her buggy. The poor woman. She even put back her dish liquid because I told her she was paying a ridiculous amount and should get the other brand that had more for less money. Hahaha This time, I actually had a better date with MIL than with hubby! Rofl. That's bad.
Okay, way too long. I'm going to bed! Cooking at home tomorrow now since we ate out tonight. I have to hit up 2 stores tomorrow to finish up grocery shopping. I'm sure I'll have a full day. Goodnight! Happy weekend!!! I'm not proof reading tonight! ;)
I SOOOO miss Cracker Barrel! Jealous! I need a date too! totally feel ya mama! Thanks for the onion tip, I'm seriously gonna do that tomorrow!! :)
ReplyDeleteyou proof read? whats that? hahaha JK remind me not to go shopping with you!!! hahah poor MIL!! Anyways I hate that, when you have bad service, even if she couldnt help it it kinda ruined your night. For a while we had the CRAZIEST cb waiters! it was insane everytime we went we would be like WHAT? they were all cray! LOL
ReplyDeleteI really hate it when I plan for a special meal and look forward to it and then it is a bust. I feel so cheated that I wind up eating a lot more off plan stuff to somehow make up for missing what I really wanted. I know that isn't smart!
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you for making the best of a very difficult situation.
Lori
Great post! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich does look delicious! I hate it when restaurants change my favourite foods/discontinue them. Makes me want to pout like a child and stamp my feet 'but I wannnnnnnt it!' Well done for not doing that! Xx
ReplyDeleteYou and I would have a great time shopping! I love to find deals :)
